VV Creator (VR voxel animator)

Voxels - they’re lively little critters. They love to dance by rotating, pulsating or jumping to the music. When 729 of them flock together they can form perfect cubes or squares, but they enjoy forming all kinds of shapes.

Now it’s time for you to teach them a whole new dance.

I released this tool to allow people to help me create characters for my upcoming Voxel Vibe game. VV Creator allows you to create and animate voxel-based characters that dynamically respond to the music.

Characters can be abstract fluid animations, robots, aliens or anything you can think of as long as they have some personality. The only rule is that they can't infringe on any copyright. 

Workflow

• Save regularly as you work
• Create core model in its main pose
• Paint with appropriate colours
• Add frames
• Copy / paste previous frames and modify to create animation

Editing instructions

How to install

The download will provide an APK file that needs to be installed on your Oculus Quest. The recommended approach is to install via SideQuest. Once SideQuest  is installed (v0.8+),  click the top toolbar icon for "install APK file from folder" (downward arrow in a box).  Then browse to and open the APK file you downloaded.

The game will be listed in the Unknown Sources category on your Quest.

Permissions

When first launching the app it will ask for permission to access your files and folders. This is to allow your designs to be saved and loaded to / from the shared storage.
